The first in Europe and the world's largest underwater restaurant opened in Norway

The first, largest and ideal for study is Under, the largest underwater restaurant on the planet with hundreds of seats, located in Norway. In Europe, this institution has no similars, in addition, it functions as a center for studying the life of marine life. Despite the fact that the restaurant opened its doors only a few days ago, it is already on the must-visit lists of most travelers and travel agencies.

Translated from Norwegian, the word "under" has two meanings - "under" and "miracle". A monolithic structure with a length of more than 30 m seems to be half sunken in the sea. It was created in such a way as to completely merge with the marine environment: the rough outer surface of the walls is designed to play the role of a man-made reef, turning over time into a house for algae and their inhabitants.

Super-thick walls protect guests from the impact of waves and the unpredictable mood of the sea, and a magnificent view of the sea bottom opens up from a huge viewing window, which changes all the time depending on the season and weather.

The restaurant serves gourmet dishes created with local products of the highest quality.

The area called Lindesnes is known for its unbridled weather, which can vary from calm to storm several times a day. That is why the guests of the restaurant, getting into the soundless, upholstered in oak foyer, and then into the rich interior and the peaceful atmosphere of the halls, are incredibly impressed by the contrast of the external and internal worlds.

The textile covering of the ceiling panels repeats the shades of sunset, symbolizing the descent from land to sea.

Furniture perfectly reflects the philosophy of the project, combining durability and "raw", natural beauty.

But, as we mentioned at the beginning, Under is not only a restaurant. The building houses a marine research center, which is ready to open its doors to multidisciplinary research teams.

The creators of the institution note that their main goal was to reflect the contrasts between the Earth’s surface and the ocean, the terrestrial and underwater world, and also to emphasize the delicate balance in the ecology of land and water.
